BlazBlue Continuum Shift II competition winners!

Well, what a creative bunch you lot are! Between Made2Game and Facebook we had a pile of well crafted and unique 'Drive' abilities that certainly wouldn't seem out of place if any of them were to be suddenly introduced to BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend. We're sure that Arc System Works might be taking notes.

(In fact, just in case you are listening Arc System Works, we second our contestants motion for Guilty Gear on modern consoles. Make it happen!)

Anyway, yes, you guys have clearly been training hard and analysing what it is that creates a unique drive. That mix of offensive capability with a clear Achilles heel. That beautiful, unique obscurity. That extra dash of seasoning to a standard fighter's repertoire.

A clear penchant for health draining rang throughout most the entries, it seems no-one likes losing their vitality mid fight. Or perhaps you're all just jealous of Ragna's main advantage, who knows. Another repeating idea was that of escalation, with most entries featuring some sort of charge or power increase that would occur through the drive's use. Demons and the occult were another recurring theme, you bizarre bunch.

Made2Game's Drive technique of 'harsh words and psychological warfare' - in which we bombard our opponent with derogatory comments and slander such as 'your hair wouldn't even look fashionable on David Bowie circa 1970' and 'Are you aware that your over-exuberant style is applied purely for comic affect?' - absolutely pales in comparison. Although we'd like to remind everyone that Phoenix Wright does a good job of vocal abuse in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3...

Well, unfortunately not everyone that entered can win a copy of BlazBlue Continuum Shift II, which is a pretty good portable cousin if you didn't know. So for those that didn't win it's time to ukemi your spirits and look to the future, with BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend barely months away there's no time to mourn today. The Wheel of Fate is turning, get back to training for the never ending battle!

Before we announce the winners the following entries impressed or tickled us but were just shy of winning a copy of the game -

Honourable mentions

Rog
My drive power would be to cut some sick shapes and bust some epic moves. Wouldn't help with the fighting part but I would look cool until my skull gets smashed

Ad7
My drive power would be to literally drive over the opponent, possibly in a hilariously OTT anime cat truck!

BlazBlue Nyan

Michael Ieti
Pretty hard to beat Tager and THE POWER OF MAGNETISM (aka Voltic Battler)... but I'd give it a try anyway. So! uh... Drive Ability: Atomic Disruption, where D attacks cause EXPLOSIONS OUT OF NOWHERE. First, I explode. Then, you explode. Then, the air around us explodes. The D button explodes, and the rest of your controller too. And then Michael Bay shows up out of nowhere, declares this a success and explodes. ASTRAL HEAT.

Tomaki Connolley
My ability would be to stop time! then brutually rape the enemy with knives and steamrollers! ZA WARUDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (are you ok? -M2G)

Alvin Dela Cruz-Pastoral
My weapon would be a pen case and bunch of pens. My drive would be to convert these pens to weapons that would be convenient to any given situation. Change a pen to a micro missile for projectile attack and dual swords for melee

Thomas Wechdorn
My Drive would be called Gamemaster, it's a handheld-device. You wouldn't fight with it, but more using it's powers to lay area based traps, where special rules apply. For Example no Jumping. There are also direct attacks which lay a Rule on the enemy for a short amount of Time.

Kelvin Lam
My Drive ability would be called "Inventory", it is basically a charge move in which timing is key similar to Makotos, the character would reach into their bag and pull something out to throw or to hit the opponent with. (Mary Blazing Poppins! - M2G)

The following entries are the winning quartet, and the four lucky enough to be winning those BlazBlue portable titles, art cards, and manga comics!

Winners of the 3DS versions:

Fred Lau
Drive: Replica
My abilities would be to copy all the techniques or weapons from the character roster and create a replica of that certain kind. They will have a hard time predicting my moves due to the mix-ups, but the copied techniques can't last long due to being fake so its best to take them out ASAP. a good offense can be a good defense. I will have 2 distortions, one will be able to copy any 3 random characters for a certain amount of time, the other will be an attack that allows me to show off all the weapons and moves from the other characters.

Made2Game Likes – BlazBlue's character roster is so unique that a character like this would represent absolute mastery. Taxing to fight, but also hugely difficult to play!

Drive: Ace Of Suits
I would be using a Standard 52(54 with the jokers added) deck of playing cards, that would morph into different objects, or throw like ninja stars (like Seto Kaiba). Some objects that these cards would transform into are swords, whip, a barrier(it would function like M.O.D.O.K.'s from MVC3), placing traps on the ground for the opponents to step on, wings to help me double jump and air dash, and armor for when I am blocking. Each Special move (which will be transforming the cards into objects, except for the wings, and armor) I do will deplete a certain number of cards from the deck, and leave them on the stage, only to be gathered by a Distorion Drive which when the cards come back to me they will slice the opponent. The second Distortion Drive I would have, would be using 26 cards out of the deck and creating a Knight to assist me in battle, and it would auto track behind me, and any inputs for it would be reverse for my Special moves.

Made2Game likes – This Drive is particularly fragile, the concept of only having access to so many uses of an ability before you have to mix up your style adds a compelling fragility and precision to the Drive.

Winners of the PSP versions:

Alok Bhatt
Drive: Time Warp
My drive attacks would be based around the concept of "swapping pasts" Basically, it would randomly switch a certain stat, for example, swap mine and the opponent's health. The catch? It swaps with a version 30 or some other seconds in the past. That is, if the opponent had more health 30 seconds ago, it would swap with that version, not the current. Same goes for the other bars. To avoid overpoweredness, this would be bloody hard to pull off, you would have to pay attention to everything, AND be really good at getting it to hit, since it would be easy to dodge. In an Astral Heat time would accelerate for the opponent, sapping away his health at a fast rate, only leaving him the choice of himself finishing the fight before he dies...and that's all i have.

Made2Game likes – We're just imagining a fight between two of these guys lasting aaaaaaaaaaaaages. And every time you land the attack it plays a snippet from the Back to the Future theme. Daaah, daaaah, daaaaaaaah, de de da, da, da, daaah da d(snip).

Steven Miller
Drive:  Teleportation
My Drive ability would definitely be teleportation. Much like Taokaka, to one's opponent your movement will seem unpredictable. Depending what direction one uses the Drive in determines which direction you will teleport. This Drive could be used to constantly switch sides with your opponent and catch them off guard. I can see many possibilities for quick teleporting air volley combos.

Made2Game likes – Mix-ups are fun. Zipping around a stage is fun. Fed through the Made2Game calculator equates that this Drive would be 'fun fun'.

Thank you to everyone for entering, we're just sorry we can't send everyone prizes! Made 2 Game will be in contact with the winners immediately and as we said, even if you didn't win a copy BlazBlue Continuum Shift II is out for PSP and 3DS right now and there's more BlazBlue to come very soon so keep on fighting!

Oh! And congratulations on the new baby!

  • popo237

Forgive me for all those comments. I was just worried there has been a glitch in the system, and I would not have been able to get my prize of this exclusive material. Thank you very much for the reply and e-mail.

  • Made2Game

    Hi popo237.

Sorry for the lack of immediate response. I wasn't feeling too great yesterday (new baby, no sleep and blah blah) and hadn't checked through this all. I have sent you an email.

  • popo237

Okay. You are right. But still this isn't as immediately as I hoped, but oh well. I'll wait.

  • bassoxu

Dude, calm down. You aren't the only one without a notice lol. Have some patience, should come eventually.

  • popo237

I am extremely grateful I won, but and only but, why haven't I received that e-mail yet? I want to claim my prize for winning this wonderful contest, and it has been at least 11 hours now that I haven't received it, so what error has happened? Please respond as this isn't fair, as you wrote you would immediately contact the winners, and since I am one of them, I want to know why the wait?

  • popo237

Still haven't gotten the e-mail...... So what does this mean?

  • popo237

So yeah... I am still waiting for that e-mail, and I am also the only winner who won through this website.

  • popo237

I guess I'll wait a day to receive a reply, otherwise I'll just be here longer than I wanted to. I kind of disappointed that I haven't received any notice or e-mail about this at all,(I found out I won from clicking on facebook and coming to this page just to check), but when it is something like BlazBlue, I can stand waiting for awhile.

  • popo237

Could it be perhaps that I am the only winner that won though your website instead of Facebook?

  • popo237

Also I have contacted Made2Game about this twice, so hopefully I'll get an answer soon, otherwise today has been a great roller coaster ride, that hopefully won't crash and burn.

  • popo237

Okay well this isn't very "immediately" as I thought it would be, but I'll be waiting for that e-mail still. And since I can't find a way to contact the editor of this page(I try clicking on his name, but it sends me back to my page) I am hoping these comments will let him see my distress.

  • popo237

Okay.... Been at least 8 hours still haven't gotten my e-mail......

  • popo237

I haven't got my e-mail yet, but that because it is currently so early.
